Leeds United 2007-08 Match Worn Shirt - Dave Prutton
(Unwashed and from a KNOWN game)
Season: The 2007–08 season was Leeds' first ever season in the third tier of English football and saw them finish in the play-offs in League One. Dennis Wise started the season as manager, but left the club in January 2008 to join Newcastle as Executive Director of Football. Wise was replaced just days later with former Leeds captain, Gary McAllister. In pre-season, the club were hit with a 15-point deduction for exiting administration without a CVA. However, the team won their first seven games and effectively eliminated the 15-point deduction. As the season progressed, results slipped, but the team still finished 5th in the league - qualifying them for the play-offs. In the play-off semi-finals, the club beat Carlisle over two legs, booking them a place at Wembley in the final. However, dreams were shattered when the team were beat 1-0 by Doncaster, resigning the club to a second season in League One.
Player: David Prutton. Prutton joined Leeds on 7 August 2007. Prutton generally played in a right midfield role during Dennis Wise's rule at the club. When Gary McAllister became manager, Prutton was moved to his natural central midfield role, and put in several man-of-the-match performances. He was one of Leeds' most consistent performers in the 2007–08 season, having started over 40 matches and winning several man of the match awards along the way. Prutton also became a cult hero amongst the Leeds fans, due to his humour in interviews, and also his Jesus-Like appearance. Following Simon Grayson's appointment as Leeds United manager, Prutton became somewhat of a peripheral figure in Leeds' first team squads and let the club at the end of the 2009/10 season.
Other Details: Embroidered club badge, embroidered manufacturers logo, plastic transfer sponsor, player-size numbers/letters, player-size felt Coca-Cola Championship badges on sleeve, secondary sponsor on back. The shirt is unwashed and was given in person by the player. The shirt is signed (to me) on the front and back and was worn in the 2-0 victory against Swindon at Elland Road.

Player: Paul Huntington. On 31 August 2007 he transferred to Leeds United for an undisclosed fee believed to be £500,000. The move was seen as a coup by Leeds as Huntington had played in the Premier League. Huntington established himself as Leeds' first-choice centre-back. He was on good form during the run-in to the end of the 2007–08 season and manager Gary McAllister said Huntington has a bright future ahead of him. However following an injury and the arrival of Simon Grayson then Huntington failed to establish himself as a first team regular and was allowed to leave in February 2010.
Other Details: Embroidered club badge, embroidered manufacturers logo, unique match detail embroidered above and below club crest, plastic transfer sponsor, player-size numbers/letters, player-size felt Coca-Cola Championship badges on sleeve, secondary sponsor on back. Gary McAllister started the season as manager, but after a poor run of games in late 2008, his contact was terminated and he was replaced by Simon Grayson. After a nervy first few games, Grayson lifted the side from 8th to 4th, resulting in a place in the play-offs. During this time, the club recorded an incredible 11 consecutive home wins. Although to the heartbreak of Leeds fans, the club failed in the play-offs again, being defeated by Millwall in the semi-finals.
Player: Fabian Delph. Delph was awarded his first professional contract on 11 January 2008, and made two appearances for Leeds in the 2007–08 season, both as a substitute.Delph impressed in the 2008–09 pre-season and after making several first team appearances signed a new 4 year contract. Delph's form attracted the attention of Premier League managers and during the January 2009 transfer window, Leeds rejected another two bids from Premier League for Delph. By March 2009, his performances during the 2008–09 season earned Delph a nomination for the League One player of the year and helped him to win the young player of the year in the end of season Football League Awards. The awards for the 2008–09 season did not end there, with Delph winning young player of the season, goal of the season, for his strike against Brighton and player's player of the season at the club awards. After Leeds lost out in the playoff semi finals against Millwall, there was much speculation about Fabian's future at Leeds, and Delph completed his move to Premiership club Aston Villa.

Player: Ben Parker. Born in Pontefract Parker was another member to come through the Leeds academy. He made his first appearance for the club in the 2007-08 season and was a regular first team member by the 2008-09 season. This was to be his best season in a Leeds shirt and a particular highlight was the part he played in the opening goal of the play-off semi-final second leg against Millwall in which he made a blistering 70-yard run to cross for Luciano Becchio to fire home from six-yards. Unfortunately Parker was injured on the opening day of the 2009-10 season restricting him to only 3 appearances that season. After an 18-month battle with injury, Parker returned to the starting line-up against Cardiff City and four days later, Parker played in a 1–1 draw against Premier League club Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Unfortunately Parker was unable to earn his place back in the first team as he began suffering with further injuries and was released at the end of the 2011-12 season after making 41 appearances for the club.
Other Details: Embroidered club badge, embroidered manufacturers logo, plastic transfer sponsor, player-size numbers/letters, player-size felt Coca-Cola Championship badges on sleeve.A very rare shirt as the 'Netflights.com' sponsor on the front is a darker blue to make it stand-out (player shirts only). These shirts were only used on a handful of occasions when the club were on TV so that the sponsor was more visible when compared to its lighter blue version.

Player: Frazer Richardson. Richardson made his Leeds debut as a second-half substitute against Hapoel Tel Aviv during the 2002–03 UEFA Cup campaign. Richardson suffered Premiership relegation with Leeds in 2004 but it was not until the 2004-05 season where Richardson started getting regular first team football as Leeds started life in the Coca-Cola Championship. In the 2005–06 campaign, Richardson infrequently played on the right of midfield and helped the club reach the Play-off final against Watford. In the 2006–07 season, Richardson hardly featured under Blackwell in the Leeds team at all due to injuries. Under new manager Dennis Wise, Richardson played more regularly in the Leeds starting line-up, replacing the injured Gary Kelly at right back. On the retirement of Kelly, Richardson was given the number two shirt and became the club's first choice right back and started all the club's matches in the 2007–08 season until injury ruled him out. Richardson was appointed Leeds captain in for the 2008-09 season by McAllister, and remained club captain despite injury under new manager Simon Grayson but was released at the end of the season.

When Gary McAllister took charge then on occasions he would favour David Lucas, but returned to being first choice keeper under new manager Simon Grayson. However injury to Higgs meant that Ankergren made 39 appearances that season including a heroic display in the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford. It was announced at the end of the 2009/10 season that Ankergren would not be offered a new deal at Leeds and was replaced at Leeds by a fellow Dane Kasper Schmeichel after making a total of 121 appearance for the club.

Simon Grayson became the first manager in five years to complete a full season as Leeds boss and celebrated it by winning the club's first promotion in twenty years.
Player: Robert Snodgrass. Robert arrived at Elland Road in 2008 and was a tricky winger that could run comfortable with the ball whilst delivering accurate passes. A fans favourite for his hardworking displays and never-say-die attitude. Snodgrass made 57 appearances (11 goals) in the 2009/10 season. He later went onto captain the side in the 2011/12 but after a lack of investment in the team he demanded a move and as a consequence was another Leeds player that made a move to Norwich. In total Snodgrass made 168 appearances for the club and scored 35 times. Snodgrass was voted Leeds' Player of the Season in 2012.
Other Details: Embroidered club badge, embroidered manufacturers logo, plastic transfer sponsor, player-size numbers/letters, player-size felt Coca-Cola Championship badges on sleeve, secondary sponsor on back. A very unique shirt as Leeds wore the 2010/11 shirt for the final game of the 2009/10 season. What makes this shirt special is that it has the Coco-Cola Championship sleeve patches on the shirt which were only used in this game as Npower badges were used the following season. The shirt is also signed by Snodgrass with the message 'Leeds 2-1 Bristol R. Leeds are going up! 8/5/10'. An incredible shirt from a historic day!
